TitleSolar Car(t) Building Project2017-07-17 10:59:00

August 21, 2017, North America will experience a total solar eclipse. This is a once in a life time opportunity, considering next total solar eclipse will happen in 20 years. We have experienced a total solar eclipse only twice in the last century, and only over small portions each time. This year, the seventy mile wide umbra of the Moon’s shadow on Earth will bisect US from Oregon to South Carolina. Totality, when the moon blocks the entire sun, begins on the morning of Monday, August 21. Within the path of totality the sun’s light will be totally blocked for about two minutes and the sun’s faint surrounding aura of plasma, the corona, will appear around the moon. Solar eclipse may have a grave impact on terrestrial solar cell operation as the shadow of the moon passes through the solar cell installation sites in the affected region. Currently I am building a solar car(t)to monitor the fluctuation in sunlight intensity and solar cell power generation by mobile solar carts deployed in solar eclipse region.
